How Do We Process Single Payment vs Subscription Stripe Payments?

Both Single Payments and Subscriptions are processed in Stripe itself; the main difference is the processing time.

Stripe Single Payment payments will fail immediately on the form itself, in case there is an issue with the payment information (wrong card number, CVC, expiration date, insufficient funds, etc.).

While Subscription payments are validated after the form has been submitted. Stripe will process the payment information and then send DepositFix a successful or failed webhook, which DepositFix then uses to relay and update the information in HubSpot.

In some cases, Stripe may experience some delay in processing the payment information, which may cause an inconsistency with the information in HubSpot and trigger any form submission-dependent workflows, even if the payment is failed.

To avoid this, It is important to use DepositFix timeline events when setting up workflows for payment forms. That way, contacts are enrolled in workflows accurately based on their payment status.
